About Me

Don't Rely on Only Friends to Keep Your Salon Afloat

When I decided to open my own salon and spa, I had so many friends excited to try my services that I didn't think I needed to invest in marketing. Those friends did come in frequently, but their business turned out to just not be enough to keep my bills paid. I then remembered that before I began as a hairdresser, I drove many miles to see my favorite hair-stylist that I loved. That made me realize that I needed to advertise not just locally, but throughout the entire region. I drove an hour to my favorite hair-stylist, so why wouldn't my customers? I held a great "new customer discount", and soon those new customers from neighboring cities became regular customers once they realized how much they loved my technique. I created this blog to help other struggling business owners. I hope you can learn from my experiences!

Company Gear For Corporate Retreats: Three Ideas To Consider

by Denise Watkins

Corporate retreats offer a way for your team to learn more about each other and how to work better together. One way to help add to the overall experience is to provide attendees with some exciting promotional products. Here are some options for giveaways you might want to include in your next corporate retreat.

Logoed Apparel

For certain parts of the retreat, you might want your employees to wear clothing with your company logo prominently displayed. Consider purchasing polo shirts in several colors that can be worn to group activities or meals, and purchase jackets that can be worn for outdoor activities. Logoed t-shirts offer a great option for casual gatherings at your corporate retreat, such as picnics. Look for a variety of different types of apparel, and think about adding a few fun options as well, such as socks with your company logo on them. You may also want to consider having your employee names added to their shirts for a personal touch. Contact companies like AD-MARK Promotional Products to learn more about your options.

Messenger Bags

Messenger bags can be used to distribute the apparel and other giveaway options you have for your staff, and they can also be used as work bags when your staff return to the office. Look for messenger bags that feature your company's signature colors, and add your name and logo to the front. You can also customize the bags by having each one embroidered with an employee's name. This offers a more personalized option for your staff members.

Gift Bags Or Baskets

If your corporate retreat is taking place out of town, consider having each employee greeted with a custom gift basket or bag, which can be placed in their hotel rooms. The bags should include a few essentials for the weekend, such as bottled water, mints, and sunglasses, as well as a few luxury items. Gourmet coffee, which can be brewed in the hotel room's coffee maker, can be a welcome gift, or gourmet chocolates offer a tasty option for the end of the day. Be sure to add a hand-written thank-you card in each bag to show your appreciation for their participation in your corporate retreat event.

You can use these ideas or come up with a few of your own to make your corporate retreat even more exciting. Invite your attendees to wear their logoed apparel to the office on casual Fridays so they can show off the great gear they got as part of their participation in your retreat.
