About Me

Don't Rely on Only Friends to Keep Your Salon Afloat

When I decided to open my own salon and spa, I had so many friends excited to try my services that I didn't think I needed to invest in marketing. Those friends did come in frequently, but their business turned out to just not be enough to keep my bills paid. I then remembered that before I began as a hairdresser, I drove many miles to see my favorite hair-stylist that I loved. That made me realize that I needed to advertise not just locally, but throughout the entire region. I drove an hour to my favorite hair-stylist, so why wouldn't my customers? I held a great "new customer discount", and soon those new customers from neighboring cities became regular customers once they realized how much they loved my technique. I created this blog to help other struggling business owners. I hope you can learn from my experiences!

How Holographic Security Seals Work

by Denise Watkins

Holographic security seals have been around since the 1990s, but their use has spread over time. If you run a business that deals with sensitive documents, you need a way to ensure your products are tamper-evident, or if you simply want to deter counterfeiters, a holographic seal might be your best bet.

Hard to Tamper With

If you need to secure important documents and provide evidence that they haven't been accessed by any parties other than your intended recipient, a holographic security seal can do just that. Because of the unique design of the hologram, any damage will be immediately apparent. These stickers are typically printed in multiple layers, so the image will be distorted if part of the sticker is moved. An optical diffraction layer is also irreversibly bonded to the image layer, and any distortion in the diffraction is easy to spot.

Hard to Remove

Holographic seals offer a unique resistance to past letter-opening techniques because they are so difficult to remove. One cannot simply peel the sticker off without damaging the sticker because it will essentially self-destruct. These stickers are made to come apart if pulled on, leaving some low-level adhesive on part of the sticker and strong adhesive on the material it was affixed to. While the seals are easy to remove, it's immediately apparent if one has been removed, even if it's replaced.

Additionally, a seal needs to remain above freezing temperatures for the diffraction pattern to remain unchanged. While a wrongdoer may be able to successfully freeze a standard envelope without a holographic seal to open it without a trace, holograms provide much greater protection for the contents of a letter or package.

Hard to Counterfeit

While these stickers are difficult to remove or tamper with, they have other uses as well. Holograms provide a deterrent against forgery because they can't be successfully copied or scanned, and they are difficult to reproduce by hand. You can mark a specific product with a hologram seal to assure customers that they are purchasing an authentic product.

Whether you're protecting items and information or ensuring that customers only get real products, holographic security seals can be a great addition to your marketing strategy. When you use a hologram security seal, you are ensuring that your customers are protected, and you can let them know that you only have their best interests at heart.
