About Me

Don't Rely on Only Friends to Keep Your Salon Afloat

When I decided to open my own salon and spa, I had so many friends excited to try my services that I didn't think I needed to invest in marketing. Those friends did come in frequently, but their business turned out to just not be enough to keep my bills paid. I then remembered that before I began as a hairdresser, I drove many miles to see my favorite hair-stylist that I loved. That made me realize that I needed to advertise not just locally, but throughout the entire region. I drove an hour to my favorite hair-stylist, so why wouldn't my customers? I held a great "new customer discount", and soon those new customers from neighboring cities became regular customers once they realized how much they loved my technique. I created this blog to help other struggling business owners. I hope you can learn from my experiences!

Boosting Your Online Impact: Proven Tactics For Effective Social Media Management

by Denise Watkins

Managing your business's social media presence in the digital age is akin to steering a ship across the vast ocean of online engagement. It can be a taxing voyage, navigating through a tumultuous sea of hashtags, likes, and shares while striving to keep a steady course toward your target audience.

This article offers insightful tips and proven tactics to bolster your online impact, streamline your social media management, and ensure your brand sails smoothly toward success.

Share User-Generated Content

Sharing user-generated content (UGC) refers to any form of content, be it images, videos, text, or reviews, that is created and shared by unpaid contributors or, in other words, fans.

It offers a genuine and unfiltered perspective of your brand from the consumers' viewpoint. Harnessing UGC bolsters your brand's credibility and promotes a sense of community among your audience, fostering a deeper connection between your brand and its followers.

In addition, UGC can significantly amplify your reach and engagement on social media. When users create and share content about your brand, it increases your visibility among their followers, potentially drawing in new followers or customers.

This organic word-of-mouth marketing is highly effective as people tend to trust recommendations from their peers more than direct brand advertisements. By featuring UGC on your business's social media platforms, you can leverage this trust to boost your brand's reputation and visibility.

Moreover, incorporating UGC can help alleviate the pressure of continuously generating original content. You can encourage your audience to share their experiences or thoughts about your brand.

Doing so can help you gain a trove of potential content to share and engage your followers in a meaningful way. This interactive approach saves you time and resources and fosters a sense of community and allegiance among your followers, reinforcing their connection to your brand.

Cross-Promote on Different Platforms

Another great way to boost your business's online visibility is to cross-promote on different social media platforms.

For instance, if you post a video on one platform, you can create a corresponding text post on another platform to drive more engagement and reach even more people. This increases your visibility across platforms and allows you to tap into new audiences that may not have access to certain social networks.

Furthermore, if there are certain platforms where you have a strong following, it might be worth investing more resources into them. Prioritizing certain platforms can help you draw a larger, more dedicated following on those networks.
